HR/Payroll Specialist Plano, Texas
Company: Premier Trailers
- Assist with processing and managing 60 bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Calculate and process payroll adjustments, bonuses, and deductions and conduct quarterly payroll audits.
- Stay current on payroll tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Manage benefits enrollment documentation and audit monthly benefit invoices.
- Tax Management opening and closing state tax accounts with new branches and assisting with new locality, and annual tax rate notices.
- Assist with employee benefits programs and serve as a point of contact for benefits-related questions.
- Address and resolve payroll and benefit-related inquiries from employees promptly.
Human Resources:
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process, including posting jobs, conducting initial candidate screenings and reference checks, and assisting with the coordination and facilitation of new hire orientations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee personnel records in the HRIS (Jobvite & ExponentHR Systems).
- Support employee relations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing guidance on company policies and procedures.
- Assist with general HR administration with employee verifications, HR filing, HR events & activity coordination, HR SOP Manual coordination, HR expense processing, Ad hoc reporting, HR SharePoint management, unemployment claim research, etc.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
- Assist with BLS labor reporting, labor law poster distribution, 401k funding, and deferral audit.
- Mitigate risk by ensuring that we adhere to all relevant labor laws and regulations in a timely fashion such as DOL, EEO1, CA Pay Data, and Census Compliance reporting.
- Keep abreast of changes in employment legislation and proactively implement necessary updates to policies and procedures.
Reporting:
- Generate and analyze HR and payroll reports as needed.
- Assist with preparing and submitting required reports to regulatory agencies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred or equivalent HR/Payroll work experience.
- Proven experience in payroll processing and human resources functions.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in HRIS and payroll software; experience with ExponentHR or similar systems is a plus.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- Proficiency with HRIS systems – ExponentHR, ADP, Workday, Paycom, UKG, Paycor, Paylocity or similar.
