The School of Communication and Culture at Aarhus University invites applications for the position of full professor of Scandinavian culture and media in a globalised context based at the Department of Scandinavian Studies and Experience Economy.
The appointment is tenured and begins on 1 February 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The professorship is affiliated with the Department of Scandinavian Studies at University of Aarhus and Experience Economy and specifically the section of the department that is responsible for research and teaching in the study of culture and media.
We are looking for an applicant with a significant international research portfolio as well as relevant teaching and supervision qualifications. The research and teaching associated with the position focus on Scandinavian culture and media in a globalised context.
We are looking for an innovative and dedicated researcher with a strong academic record of accomplishment who will deliver research of the highest standard, pursue research funding from external funding bodies, and contribute to teaching and supervising students on all degree levels.
In collaboration with the other staff of University of Aarhus at the department, the successful applicant will develop the field and promote the study of Scandinavian culture and media nationally and internationally. In addition, the successful applicant is expected to take a leading role in managing and developing the department’s research and educational activities, as well as in collaborating nationally and internationally with a range of external partners.

The successful applicant is expected to have conducted extensive, original and thoroughly documented international research at the highest level and to be able to make scholarly contributions to theoretical and thematic developments within the study of culture and media in a globalised Scandinavian context.
must be able to contribute to and expand the department’s current research profile, which consists of various approaches to cultural studies and the study of media culture and the expressions of media aesthetics.
The successful applicant is expected to be able to document participation in Danish, Scandinavian and/or international research networks and projects, as well as being prepared to apply for external research funding for research projects and/or networks in collaboration with the department staff and external partners. Applicants must also document their previous experience of research management and the achievement of external funding.
