Responsibilities
To organize the nurses station and medical records so staff may function efficiently and effectively. To accept and deliver phone and personal interactions with staff, residents, family and visitors to the Health Center nurses station. Responsible for chart audits, secretarial duties, inventory and ordering of supplies, coordination of required computer components of the Health Center medical record. Must have working knowledge of record keeping standards, Federal, State Long Term Care Regulations.
Qualifications
Requires successful completion of a formal vocational medical secretary course, unit secretary, or coding program or equivalent work experience. Prefer previous experience in long-term care with unit secretarial duties.Must be able to work with a variety of computer software, which could require additional training or education. Must be able to work independently. Requires good communication and human relation skills to interact with Health Service and Charter House staff. Strong problem solving skills are necessary. Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress. Work day hours, which could include a varied day hour assignment Monday through Friday.
