Well, this may be the role for you.Ready to make your mark?In this position, you’ll leverage your project management and leadership expertise to assist the Sr. leader in establishing the direction of daily tax activities, ensuring efficient operations, and creating an overall productive and enjoyable working environment for employees.The TotalSource Tax Operations team has a responsibility to manage timely, accurate, and auditable tax filings in all Federal, State and Local jurisdictions as well as remain compliant to the PEO/CPEO service model. To do so, we manage large complex relationships with internal and external parties, including Smart Compliance Solutions, Finance, Accounting, Payroll, Audit, Legal, State Agencies, and our external vendors.WHAT YOU’LL DO: ResponsibilitiesWhat you can expect on a typical day:

  • Lead daily activities of the product support specialist team to ensure that all work is completed according to scheduled deadlines with attention to quality standards, priorities and overall goals
  • Track various productivity and performance standards to ensure that established levels are achieved, especially during critical activity periods related to tax business incidents.
  • Enhanced understanding and implementation of Business Units strategic goals. Oversee the use of standard process workflows by team.
  • Provide explanation regarding tax compliance changes, failures and discrepancies to Sr. leadership and the tax community.
  • Function as a consultant and business partner to other groups within ADP
  • Ensures team identify and act on opportunities to reduce employment tax liabilities (i.e. voluntary contributions, tax credits, exemptions, etc.) as outlined in services. Calculate and communicate the impact of additional employment socialized costs, surcharges, and other added liability.
  • Monitor teams tax cases and dashboards to ensure commitments, deadlines and service level agreements are met.
  • Manage maintenance reports to proactively identify and resolve discrepancies prior to submission of tax returns.
  • Apply industry and product knowledge to implement, guide, and support team with tax account set ups and changes in compliance with professional employer organization (PEO) requirements, tax regulations, ADP polices, and client expectations.
  • Train and mentor team members and identify development needs across the team, working directly to coordinate additional training as needed
  • Serve as an acting backup to the leader, providing leadership, guidance and direction to team members in the absence of the leader.
  • Manage escalated issues and provide direction.
  • Collaborate with peers to establish best practices
  • Analyze team statistics and prepare monthly business review for leader.
  • Evaluate associates on performance and complete quarterly performance review.
  • Drive associate engagement, retention, talent/career development, performance coaching and appropriate programs to enhance the service experience and technical expertise.
  • Work in collaboration with associate to establish Individual Development Plans.
  • Develop and administer corrective action and performance improvement plans.
  • Participate in task forces, strategic initiatives, stretch assignments and collaboration opportunities with other business units

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of directly related experience.
  • 3-5 years of people leadership experience.
  • Prior experience with payroll taxes and associate development.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successful stakeholder engagement.
  • Must be detailed oriented, highly organized, and possess excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to develop and present information to a variety of audiences, including front line associates and senior level management.
  • Ability to recognize basic procedural issues as they arise and escalate to the appropriate level
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office

A college degree is great but not required. What’s more important is having the skills to do the job. If you don’t have a college degree, other acceptable experiences could include:

  • Experience noted above, OR
  • Military experience where skills including teamwork, adaptability, organization, and follow-through will help you build team and client relationships, identify solutions, and achieve success

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Profession Employer Organization (PEO) experience, including knowledge of TotalSource PEO structure.
  • Proven leadership and resource management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a high-performing team.
  • Outstanding command of Microsoft Excel, including the use of macros, pivot tables, complex functions, and data visualization tools.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • CPP or FPC certification
  • Proficiency and in-depth knowledge of State Unemployment Insurance, State Income Tax, Local, Federal and special tax
  • Prior leadership training
