Job description: Vaco is hiring for a Staff Accountant/Purchasing Coordinator
Location: West Palm Beach
Compensation: $65-$75/annuallyPrimary Responsibilities:
- Prepare transactions to accounting records such as work sheet, ledger, or computer files, enter and post journal entries into general ledger.
- Inspect account books for efficiency and accuracy.
- Organize and update financial records.
- Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
- Perform monthly bank settlements, assist with period closings and account reconciliation.
- Prepare documentation for external auditors.
- Ad hoc reporting and various analyses.
- Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Prepare purchase orders. Verify quantity and quality of stock received from manufacturers.
- Maintain procurement records such as items purchased, costs, delivery, product quality, and inventories.
- Contact the carrier representative to plan and issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Compiles stock control records and information such as consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
- Confers and corresponds with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 3+ years within full-cycle accounting
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to multi-task and learn new processes
- Previous experience within purchasing would be nice but can train
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
Expected salary: $65000 – 75000 per year
