What We Need
Corpay is currently looking to hire a Staff Accountant II. This position falls under our Finance & Accounting Center of Excellence and is located in Brentwood, TN. In this role, you will be an instrumental component in the company’s Accounting Department. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager and regularly collaborate with Divisional & Business Team Leadership, Treasury, and Divisional Controllers.

Monthly home internet stipendRole Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role will include:Preparing and reviewing various month-end close activities, including timely preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
Promptly responding to provide additional support for preliminary month-end financial review and flux explanations at the request of supervisors
Ensuring collaboration with the accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
Mentoring and developing staff with a collaborative approach to establish accountabilities, objectives, priorities, and monitoring/evaluating results
Continually evaluating and optimizing month-end close processes to deliver process automation and improved accuracy
Participating in the preparation and review of internal controls and the corresponding policies and procedures that improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the business
Coordinating with other team members within our department to ensure accuracy of the financial account balances
Partnering with and being a liaison with other departments on analyzing financial balances, problem resolution, and strategic business initiatives
Participating in special projects and performing other related duties as assignedQualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience; CPA track preferred
2-5+ years of previous experience in accounting roles – public accounting experience a plus
Understanding of journal entries and account reconciliations
Fintech, financial, or technology sector/industry experience a plus
Interest in process improvement and IT system implementation projectsProven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, well-developed problem-solving skills; solid organizational skills; and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively communicate to all levels of an organization when necessary
Ability to coordinate and work within a team in a hybrid environment
Demonstrated background and knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
Ambitious, flexible, and committed to excellence; demonstrates leadership qualities and fosters collaboration and loyalty.
