Job description: Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in the accounting field.Responsibilities:·Process invoices and payments; manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.·Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.·Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and monthly reconciliations.·Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.·Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.·Assist in payroll processing and reconciling payroll data from third-party providers.·Help ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).·Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies or provide financial support.·Assist with external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests.·Continuously seek opportunities to improve accounting procedures and internal controls.·Perform other accounting duties as assigned.Requirements:·Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.·1-3 years of accounting experience preferred (public, industry, or a mix)·Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office programs like Excel·A strong understanding of GAAP·Strong attention to detail and organizational skills·Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders·Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, particularly during month-end and year-end closing periods
