Providing compassionate care for those living with an illness while supporting those caring for a loved one is the mission of Community Healthcare of Texas.Community Healthcare of Texas is currently recruiting for an Staff Accountant.POSITION SUMMARYThe Staff Accountant will provide support to the accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records and preparing financial reports. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of the accounting department and contributing to the company’s financial operations.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Journal Entry Preparation: Assist in preparing and posting journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Audit Assistance: Support audit fieldwork, gathering necessary documentation and assisting auditors with their requests.
- Financial Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Assist in managing invoice processing, payment disbursements, and collections to ensure timely and accurate execution of financial transactions.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
- Financial Analysis: Assist with basic financial analysis, identifying trends and potential issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information and support their financial needs.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter data into accounting software and financial systems.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, required.
- 2-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel with hands-on experience using formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP for data analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
