Job description: Mercy Flights is hiring a full-time Staff Accountant!We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to support a broad range of accounting activities including general ledger review, accounts payable, payroll backup, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and fixed asset management.Key Responsibilities:
- Review general ledger accounts and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual adjusting journal entries and accruals in compliance with GAAP
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support internal control activities
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper financial procedures
- Assist with accounts payable including invoice coding, entry, and vendor communications
- Provide backup support for payroll processing
- Partner with the CFO on safeguarding assets and internal control improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of direct accounting experience
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus
- Knowledge of GAAP and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- High attention to detail and excellent communication skills
