Job description: STAFF ACCOUNTANT| $25/HR | FT, M-F | 8a-5p | DIRECT HIRE | ON SITE |PLYMOUTH MEETING, PAThird-party benefits organization is looking for a Staff Accountant to help with organization and follow-up needs. This position includes an excellent benefit package!A day in the life of a Staff Accountant
- Perform general accounting duties including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Participate in month end close responsibilities including preparing monthly bank reconciliations
- Financial reporting including updating financial statements for Board of Trustee meetings
- Work closely with Controller on ad hoc reporting
- Prepares monthly journal entries and related income statements
- Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifying deposits and outstanding checks
- Process fund disbursement checks from benefits system.
- Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required with at least 2 years of related experience
- Ability to set priorities, work independently, and manage time effectively
- Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel use and proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Outlook and accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Knowledge of Labor Unions and Multiemployer Benefit Funds a plus
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
