Job description: Job Description:We are offering an opportunity for a Staff Accountant to become a part of our client who is a leader in the construction/contractor industry, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This role involves assisting with various accounting tasks and financial reporting, ensuring high standards of excellence in all ongoing reporting requirements.Responsibilities:
- Review and validate work-in-progress revenue journal entries in the general ledger, ensuring all revenue recognition is supported with the correct documentation.
- Aid in handling cash applications and credit memo applications.
- Regularly prepare weekly allocations and related import files.
- Contribute to accounts payable accrual calculations during the month-end close.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of bank statements.
- Conduct research on vendor refund checks.
- Maintain accurate customer credit records.
- Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action as needed.

- Possess at least one year of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position in the construction/contractor industry.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrable experience with General Ledger accounting.
- Ability to conduct Month-end Journal Entries accurately and efficiently.
- Familiarity with Month-end Close Activities and the ability to complete them in a timely manner.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must have the legal right to work in the location of the job.
Expected salary: $65000 per year
