Job description: Vault Accounting is looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to work in their Salt Lake City Office. This position will be responsible for processing all payables and receivables invoices, vendor payments, customer receipts in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. This role will consist of data entry and organization for multiple entities.Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts payable data
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Verify discrepancies and resolve vendor payment issues
- Reconcile and post credit card charges from multiple cards
- Receive customer deposits and post against proper open invoices
- Help organize and track company business insurance and organize annual lease agreements
- Preparing Journal Entries
- Supporting month-end and year-end close
- Assist controller in any delegated tasks
- Assist in generating financial statements and reports for review by controller and CFO
Requirements
- 2-5 years of working experience as accounts payable clerk
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Charity accounting and knowledge a plus
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and software (Quickbooks and Oracle experience preferred)
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office (specifically Excel)
- Customer service orientation
- Team player
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Associate degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred
