Responsibilities

The Senior Business Analyst-Senior Financial Analyst for the Mayo Clinic Platform Orchestrate Program will be a key member of the team, driving research-focused, data-enabled partnerships within the life sciences, biopharmaceutical and medical device sectors. This individual will develop key financial models and business requirements for complex, industry-academic research collaborations that integrate real-world data, artificial intelligence, and clinical expertise to accelerate discovery and development.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in business and financial systems and tools, with experience in medical or biopharma organizations, and the interpersonal skills to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders alike.

Key competencies and responsibilities:

Proficient understanding of budget creation, financial modeling, creation of reports, and subsequent operationalization, including biilling and reporting of Key Performance Indicators.
Understands and considers the business and the technical needs of all stakeholders with the goal of providing a quality product or process that meets the business objectives.
Examines costs, benefits and risks associated with the proposed project and recommends alternatives for solutions throughout the business life cycle.
Collaborate with stakeholders to synthesize, articulate and document financial and business objectives and requirements by applying system and analytical thinking, methodology and discipline.
Performs data analysis, defines and documents business, financial and compliance requirements, supporting translation to specifications early in the development of business proposals.
Assists project operational leaders in linking project deliverables to billing and l milestones earn-out schedules.
Demonstrates system and analytical thinking capability. Progressive knowledge and demonstrated use of business and financial analysis methodologies and tools.
Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal communications. Builds credibility, rapport and partners with others to understand their needs and provides conflict resolution, problem solving, and ability to drive consensus.
Works in partnership with stakeholders to develop a solid knowledge base of business and financial needs.
May manage projects of mid-level complexity, which could include subcomponents of larger-scale projects as directed by project leaders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s and 6 years’ experience in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, health or science-related field OR Master’s and 2 years’ experience in business analysis, business administration, engineering, information science, health or science-related field. Experience in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, analytics and accounting is highly preferred.
