Job description: Responsible for accounting functions associated with the recording and production of financial statements for assigned business units. Perform the assigned functions related to configurations, posting and interface functions impacting the financial statements, including general accounting, payable, payroll and fixed asset. Position Summary:Prepare and review journal entries per established policy related to assigned entitiesAssist the Manager in performing monthly closings processTrain/Lead team members on various accounting functions as applicable such as Timeshare and Resort Revenue, operating expenses, Fixed Asset, Payroll, AR and AP processesAssist SEC team in reportingAssist with budgetingPrepare and review balance sheet reconciliations related to assigned entities. Determine correcting entries for reconciling itemsReview team member journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations as assignedPrepare and review bank reconciliations and record journal entries to clear outstanding itemsReview financial statements before distribution to the Manager for integrity and accuracyCreate and post journal entries, analyze financial results, ensure that all deadlines are met and all deliverables are completed with a high quality product.Review bank reconciliations associated with assigned business units and record journal entries to clear outstanding itemsAssist the Manager in improving efficiencies by evaluating processes and procedures in order to maximize accuracy of financial statementsVerify that data presented is accurate and complete.Document processes and procedures for the assigned functionsPerform ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and modeling as requested.Perform special projects as requested by managementAssists co-team members and internal customers with financial informationAssists auditors with year-end reporting.Provides highest quality of service to customers and staff at all times.Work effectively with team members within Accounting and across departments to effect changes and complete special projects required as part of company-wide goals and objectives.Qualifications:Must have a 4 year degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent required.Advanced excel and word experience.Comprehensive knowledge of accounting theory, regulations, systems and procedures.CPA PreferredBachelor’s degreeHGV was awarded four out of five stars for fostering a culture of work-life balance and family-friendly benefits, and is one of Newsweek’s “America’s Greatest Workplaces for Parents & Families.” Over the past 30 years, the highest honor we’ve received is the continued loyalty of our Owners, Members and Guests.
