South Korea jails man for lockdown breach

A 27-year-old man has received the first prison sentence in South Korea over a coronavirus lockdown breach.

The man was sentenced to four months behind bars for two separate incidents as authorities said he left his residence during a 14 day isolation period, then was caught leaving again after he was moved to a quarantine facility.

South Korea suffered one of the worst initial outbreaks of the virus before it enforced strict lockdown measures, recording more than 11,000 infections and 269 deaths.
