In addition to being advocates, we educate, we listen, and we lead as evidenced by our public awareness campaigns, the range of programs we provide, and our strong public policy.NAMI’s Cross-Cultural Innovation & Engagement (CCIE) Hub seeks to fulfill NAMI’s primary strategic goals of ensuring individuals get help early and meeting people where they are. The CCIE team manages a vast portfolio of work centered on providing mental health support and resources to marginalized communities. CCIE work includes NAMI FaithNet, Historically Black University & College (HBCU) engagement, the Sharing Hope series providing community specific support, DEI support to NAMI’s 650 affiliate members, and other special projects.The Senior Manager, Sharing Hope Series is responsible for managing a portfolio of initiatives designed to destigmatize mental health in black and brown communities. The Sharing Hope series currently includes the following initiatives for the following communities:
- Sharing Hope – Black/African Ancestry communities
- Compartiendo Esperanza – Hispanic/Latin American communities
- Maniwala – Filinipo/Philippine/Filipinx community
- Chai & Chat – South Asian communities (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanken, Maldives)
- A new initiative for American Indian communities
This position will manage strategy-focused projects to improve the implementation of the Sharing Hope series throughout NAMI affiliates to include training, data collection, internal and external marketing, leveraging best practices, and creation of a cohesive suite of initiatives. This position will also create plans to scale the initiatives to reach new communities across the NAMI alliance and to provide support to additional ethnic and racially diverse communities.This position is project dependent through July 2026 and will be re-evaluated at that time.This full-time position is Remote.Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000, depending upon experienceESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Senior Manager, Sharing Hope Series, is responsible for:
- Development of creative pathways and methods to bring more awareness to Sharing Hope (SH) series internally and with NAMI’s 650 affiliates.
- Standardize initiative data collection processes for all aspects of the initiatives to include orientation, training and affiliate implementation.
- Work with NAMI departments to integrate SH series into NAMI platform and systems to include the NAMI website and NAMI 720 (NAMI’s data collection tool for all NAMI programs)
- Coordinate data collection and support CCIE in funder reports in collaboration with CCIE Director and Sr. Mgr.
- Create and maintain an accurate database of the NAMI affiliates and Community Based Organizations who are implementing the SH series.
- Oversee resource development and maintenance for SH series.
- Work with CCIE staff and consultants to ensure alignment across the various initiatives.
- Work with NAMI affiliate leaders to bring the SH Series initiatives to their communities, as needed.
- Work with CCIE staff to coordinate implementation of Sharing Hope Series in service of NAMI grants and deliverables.
- Help develop learning opportunities and resources for NAMI staff, State Organizations and Affiliates related to CCIE projects.
- Coordinate efforts amongst other NAMI departments for implementation of CCIE-related activities.
- Engage with other CCIE initiatives such as FaithNet, HBCU engagement, etc., as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Senior Manager, Sharing Hope Series shall:
- Demonstrate capacity to work with staff and partners from diverse backgrounds – being sensitive to their experience and needs.
- Demonstrate understanding of mental health and wellness, including the roles of outreach, engagement, advocacy, support, and education in the nationwide response
- Demonstrate an understanding of NAMI’s strategic plan and articulate its component parts within the context of all strategic priorities
- Demonstrate capacity to manage projects from inception to closure, working individually and with teams as appropriate
- Performing additional tasks and duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; advance degree preferred
- 6 -8 years’ experience working in program management
- Portfolio management preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and across functions/departments to plan and implement programs and initiatives
- Ability to respond to and prioritize competing demands
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively to challenges, using creative problem-solving and fact-finding skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills
- Sound data analysis and research skills
- Sound organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to research and analyze issue-specific data, historical records, and publicly available information
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must pass background check
