Job description: Job SummaryThe Senior Accountant supports a variety of mid-level accounting duties, which include day-to-day activities and projects.   • Prepare consolidated trial balance and financial statements.
  • Post monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts including AR, AP, prepaid, debt, and equity.
  • Coordinate company-wide allocation entries from various departments including IT, HR, and purchasing.
  • Oversee closing and reconciling front-end sales to SAP.
  • Prepare annual budgets for vehicle licenses and various property insurance expenses.
  • Prepare and maintain amortization schedules for company-wide vehicle registrations and annual insurance premiums.
  • Prepare ADHOC reports for management and operations.
  • Prepare audit schedules and complete requests from external auditors during quarterly and year-end audits.
  • Properly execute controls to ensure compliance with JSOX.
  • Demonstrate leadership and provide support as needed to other accounting staff members.

EducationBachelors Degree in Accounting Requirements/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of GAAP financial reporting
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Self-starter and strong work ethic
  • Team-player and flexible
  • Available to work extended hours and potentially weekends as needed to meet month-end of audit deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the construction materials industry
  • Experience with SAP

Conditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
