Responsibilities

Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals, grant commitments, i.e. assays, cell/tissue culture, animal studies, etc. Monitors results, reports unusual outcomes and suggests modifications. Collects, enters and summarizes data. Assists in the maintenance of lab equipment and supplies. Performs basic statistical data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data. Presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts. Works under supervision and may perform some assignments independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigator.

The Mondello lab is looking for a research technologist with 2-3 years of prior experience a relevant biomedical field (e.g., molecular biology, immunology and/or genomics).

The research focus of the Mondello lab is epigenetic dysregulations in B cell malignancy and their impact on the tumor microenvironment. By combining genomic, epigenomic and transcriptomic profiling approaches of patient samples and lymphoma cells lines together with genetically modified mouse models, the lab will identify and functionally characterize recurrent genetic lesions affecting chromatin modifiers and transcription factors, determine the role of these alterations in modulating the tumor-immune crosstalk and ultimately use this information to develop specific and potent therapeutic strategies.

This position will emphasize mouse models and procedures, including genotyping, mouse colony maintenance, immunization, transplant, and some emphasis in research lab bench work such as flow cytometry, western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.

Prior experience in some the above-mentioned techniques is preferred but additional training will be provided. This is a 100% on-site position

Qualifications

Requires bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, other relevant science, or an associates degree with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience. Must exhibit a solid understanding of lab techniques, equipment, and safety. Must have the ability to organize and carry out laboratory techniques independently and in a team setting. Experience with basic data analysis is required. This position requires demonstrated writing skills.
