Job description: Research Process EngineerDecatur, ILSummary…The purpose of this role is to support plant process engineering team in researching chemicals and processes, as well as developing new ones, for the plant.Much of your work will include research, setting up and running experiments in the lab and at pilot plant, providing process engineering support, working with and training technicians and collaborating with the plant teams. You will also travel about 20% of the time to other sites to provide support.What we’re looking for…
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related (Chemical, Biological, Biochemical Engineering preferred).
- Experience with process engineering, process development, design, analysis, optimization and scale-up.
- 2+ years of experience in a related food ingredients, GMP or related chemicals processing facility.
- Knowledge of/experience with centrifugation, evaporation, filtration, ion exchange, chromatography and enzyme reactors would be the ideal technology.
- Strong communication (oral and written), organization and collaboration skills required
- No direct reports in this role, but it does require the person to be a leader and trainer, as well as manage projects from start to finish.
Expected salary: $100000 – 110000 per year
