Responsibilities
The Rehabilitation Therapy Technician is a non-licensed worker who is specifically trained under the direction of a(n) PT/OT/SLP. The Rehabilitation Therapy Technician performs designated routine tasks related to the operation of a Rehab Therapy service delegated by the PT/OT/SLP, or may perform the set-up of equipment or tasks as delegated by a(n) PTA/COTA or SLP. This individual may assist the Physical/Occupational/Speech Therapist or PTA/COTA with direct patient care, as directed by the therapist. This individual will always function under the direct supervision of a licensed/certified PT/OT/SLP when involved with patient care and at no time shall this person interpret physician’s referrals, perform evaluative procedures, initiate or adjust treatments, or assume responsibility for planning patient care. In addition, the regional role also has responsibility for Medical Receptionist duties. The role will respectfully and accurately gather demographic and insurance information, from outpatients to meet the needs of the department and to see that the financial responsibility of each visit comes to the correct conclusion. The Medical Receptionist also schedules appointments and maintains the resource schedules for outpatients and provides clerical support for the clinical department.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. Current CPR certification Skills: Ability to properly use telephone, computer/keyboard, and intercom. Wheelchairs, Carts, and Other Wheeled Transport Devices: Demonstrated knowledge of proper braking, height adjustments, and safety restraints for commonly used devices preferred. Prefer demonstrated knowledge of adaptive equipment, switches, controls, dials, belts, straps, restraints, and fasteners encountered with therapeutic apparatus. Ambulation Devices: Ability to demonstrate the proper use of most crutches, canes, walkers, and other ambulation devices preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of the operation of whirlpools, walking tanks, and full body tank patient lift devices and walking tank platform lift preferred. Must demonstrate knowledge of proper patient safety techniques in the use of this equipment.

Experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.; $16.33 – $21.21 / hour
