The University of Surrey, School of Veterinary Medicine are seeking a leader in veterinary education to deliver our disseminated final year course. We are seeking an enthusiastic Veterinary surgeon, with significant experience in education and pedagogical research, who is looking for the chance to lead the development of our innovative clinical teaching model.

The School of Veterinary Medicine has a five-year veterinary programme with a distributed final year model. Intramural rotations (IMR) run throughout the fifth year and are hosted at partner practices and other veterinary organisations. The Director of Clinical Training will lead planning, delivery, and quality assurance of the IMR course.

This is a senior role with managerial responsibilities, and as such we are seeking someone who can use their experience, knowledge, and skills to lead our team of Veterinary Clinical Teaching fellows, who are collectively responsible for student learning, assessment, and progression during the final year.

The Director of Clinical Training will be expected to lead in curriculum development through pedagogical research and design programmes to keep the Department at the leading edge of our discipline. As such they should have a proven record demonstrating innovative educational reform. They will also support strategic planning and professional accreditation activities and as such require excellent administrative ability.

The successful candidate will join the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences and our supportive, multidisciplinary teaching team, who are dedicated to inspiring and equipping the next generation of vets to engage with the challenges of the 21st Century.

The University offers an attractive salary package which includes support for CPD, a substantial holiday allowance, pension scheme and a 10% salary uplift for MRCVS-registered staff.
