Job description: Job Title – Infosec Cybersecurity SpecialistLocation – 100% RemoteDuration – Full Time Project / FTEOnly USC NeededJob Descriptionlinux, some cloud, some scripting (bash or python or powershell), PKI with PROTEK supporting their client.We have a permanent position for an Infosec Cybersecurity Specialist.Job OverviewSeeking an experienced Infosec Cybersecurity Specialist to design, document, and implement Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) architectures, while also supporting production systems and engineering development efforts. This role involves maintaining and documenting Linux-based PKI environments, Key Management Systems (KMS), and Hardware Security Modules (HSM).In addition to technical responsibilities, the specialist will provide strategic guidance and hands-on support in implementing cybersecurity best practices for infrastructure.Essential FunctionsDesign, deploy, and maintain Linux-based environments including monitoring, managing, and troubleshootingDocument solutions for internal and external useWork with senior staff to analyze and implement cybersecurity solutions for infrastructure based on the DoD Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification processWork with PKI SMEs to design and deploy PKI solutionsBasic Qualifications3-5 years of work experience in IT Operations, Information Security, and/or Cybersecurity, with a bachelor’s degree or an advanced degreeHands-on experience configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting Linux-based environmentsDeep understanding of distributions like Red Hat, Ubuntu, and CentOSExperience with AWS, Azure, or Google CloudExperience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell experience for scriptingStrong verbal and written communication skillsClear documentation and effective collaboration with cross-functional teamsStrong organizational skills and time managementAbility to troubleshoot complex systems and resolve incidentsSupporting end-users and internal stakeholders with technical issuesPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with PKI, HSMs, encryption, and access control systemsFamiliarity with Internet protocols including, but not limited to TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, IPsec, OCSP, SCEP, and LDAPDoD 8570.01 IAT II (One of the following or higher (CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP) and other comparative information security certifications are preferred
