Know our team

Nutrition International’s External Relations (ER) unit is a diverse team of dedicated professionals responsible for the development and implementation of advocacy and communications priorities across the organization. The unit leads, coordinates, and supports global government relations, global advocacy, and business development with institutional donors, as well as media relations, corporate and digital communications, and the Nutrition International brand. The ER unit works closely with other teams across the organization to grow and diversify resources for Nutrition International’s global strategy and Investment Case, drive thought leadership, and grow global support for nutrition, and Nutrition International. Members of the ER team are located in Nutrition International’s Headquarters in Ottawa, Canada as well as our Asia and Africa Regional Offices. Nutrition International is currently seeking applications for an Advocacy and Communications Officer to be based in Islamabad, Pakistan.

About you

You are creative and enthusiastic advocacy and communications professional with 5 years of extensive experience in working in government relations, advocacy, communications, stakeholder relations, or partnerships. You will have a Master’s Degree in International Relations, International Development, Social Science, Political Science, or related field from a reputable university or institution. Experience in working for an international organization or managing communications initiatives with both domestic and global audiences. Excellent English written and oral communications skills, with advanced presentation and networking skills, are highly preferable.

About the role

In this role you will be responsible to support the Country Director with the following:

  • Develop/refine/update SUNCSA Pakistan and SUNAR, Pak annual plan and ensure its implementation
  • Organize periodic virtual and face to face meetings of SUNSA, Pak and SUNAR, Pak members on periodic basis as agreed by the members and SUN Focal Person
  • Represent NI/SUNCSA at country and regional level monthly & quarterly meetings; SUNCSN Asia coordination group meeting, national and provincial SUN units meeting etc.
  • Develop progress, updates, and achievements of SUNCSA for sharing internally and externally
  • Develop brief/ guidance document for SUNCSA members to organize advocacy & awareness activities for commemoration of international observance days
  • Assist Pakistan Country Director in implementation of country level advocacy and communications activities and building strategic relations with national networks on food and nutrition
  • Facilitate in NI’s ongoing policy advocacy efforts to influence legislations and policies, planning and budgeting
  • Work with the NPMs to design and implement advocacy and awareness activities at national and provincial level
