Responsibilities
Assists the supervisor in planning and monitoring daily workflow. Provides direction for staff to accomplish efficient flow of work. Assists with orientation and training of new employees. Maintains expertise in all aspects of area activities and performs technical duties according to written policies and procedures. Monitors QA/QC activities, the physical environment, and participates in continuous improvement. Completes other duties as assigned by Supervisor. This position requires direct involvement with specific departments in support of accurate cleaning, distribution, inventory control, transportation, records management, rehousing, and storage of identified medical equipment and devices. Responsible for daily activities associated with the decontamination functions and transport of devices throughout the Mayo Clinic with attention to standards for safety, security, and productivity. Provides support patient care areas by responding to incoming requests via phone, mail, and fax, from all levels of Mayo Clinic staff. Provides a point of contact to resolve daily operational inquiries and problems; enlists appropriate Equipment management personnel for assistance, as needed; and works on special projects as assigned. Sustains and complies with a broad range of policies and governmental regulations. Assists with projects as directed by Linen and Central Services leadership. Other job-related duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
High School diploma/GED required. Two (2) years central service, distribution or business related experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills required. Complete understanding and demonstrated proficiency of all area work tasks. Highly developed oral and written communication skills and interpersonal relation skills. Proficiency in word processing, spread sheet, and computer data entry skills is desired.Requires strong personal computer skills, communication skills, problem solving, continuous improvement and teaming skills.
Serves as a resource on department initiatives; shares knowledge with customers and colleagues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Assists with LCS continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere.
Must be adaptable and flexible in an ever-changing work environment.
Able to handle/prioritize tasks simultaneously.
Basic understanding of cleaning and distribution principles.
Ability to manage time to meet required deadlines.
