Duties
Prepare written reports on all incidents and investigations as required
Conduct periodic parcel, package, container and equipment checks following prescribed special procedures Security to ensure accountability and safety.
Perform motorized and foot patrols, controls vehicle and pedestrian traffic at fixed posts.
Respond to all intrusion detection system, duress, unauthorized access alarms and detains individuals when necessary.
Execute access control when required by verifying personally identifiable information and authorizations
Maintains an activities journal to document shift activity.

Conditions of Employment
This position is designated as moderate risk involving Public Trust. Appointment to this position is subject Security to a background investigation including a credit check to determine suitability for Federal employment and/or the position.
Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
Pre-employment physical required and annually thereafter.
Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

This position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays).
This position may require the incumbent to work on call during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.
This position may require rotating shifts (i.e. work schedule that requires employees to continuously rotate from one shift to another at predetermined intervals).
This position is subject to the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or emergency type situations the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
The position is considered Emergency Essential to support mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization.
The employee may be required to work on short notice to include nights, Security holidays, and weekends in support of related mission requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience Security refers to paid and Security unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized which includes experience in executing physical security and crime preventions activities; Responding to emergencies such as active shooter, workplace violence, and disruptive customers; and performing access control of government facilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for Security displaced employees.
