Provide oversight to scenario development efforts across a broad range of exercise types, training audience echelons, and Warfighting Functions.
Provide doctrinal grounding, ensuring the scenario products in support of exercises and events are nested with current operational concepts within U.S. Army, Joint, and multinational alliance frameworks.
Lead scenario design specialist assists the Chief of Operations and exercise lead planners in directing the efforts of JPMRC.
Direct the organization’s scenario and exercise product development efforts within a team of government and contract employees
Implement strategic communication themes and including multinational partners in exercise scenario development and writing processes.
Provide quality assurance for the Director, ensuring exercise scenario products are delivered to an acceptable standard, meeting training and exercise objectives.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a “Secret” security clearance for the duration of employment.
TDY Travel required up to approximately 25 – 50% of the total duty time.
During rotational exercises, the employee is required to work a flexible duty hours which includes – weekends, holidays, and shift work consistent of10-12 hours days for an extended 2-week period or longer.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing oversight to Design scenario development efforts of various exercise types, training audience echelons, and War-fighting Functions for complex constructive exercises; implementing strategic communication themes and including multinational partners in exercise scenario development and writing processes; performing quality assurance for exercise scenario products to ensure standards are acceptable for Design training and exercise objectives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

This position is subject to deployment through-out the Pacific AOR to include countries West of the International Date Design Line, that employee is deployed and work in austere and remote field conditions in support of maneuver training exercises as part of a forward support training package. Deployments are to other training areas. In the event of a deployment, the employee must continue to perform assigned duties to support the mission requirements until relieved by proper authority, or the mission is complete. The employee may be required to live and work in tents or shelters while on deployment.
Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 3 Years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
