Responsibilities Design Release Engineer – HV Battery Structures and Enclosures
This position requires collaboration across multiple teams and suppliers to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and cost requirements
Develop program-specific goals within the constraints of the project
Collaborate with systems engineering to establish battery packaging design specifications
Oversee the design of HV battery pack structure, including low and high-voltage connections, thermal management, and gas venting, ensuring the design is optimized for production readiness
Focus on optimizing designs for factors like size, weight, durability, and cost efficiency
Manage the integration and placement of cell modules, components, and wiring inside the HV battery, ensuring proper consideration of thermal, crash, EMC, and other relevant factors
Work with cross-functional teams globally to align battery packaging with vehicle platform specifications, performance targets, and various attribute needs
Guide the design and evaluation of battery components by applying engineering principles and manufacturing knowledge to achieve cost-effective solutions
Partner with the Vehicle Architecture team to define HV battery packaging envelopes, ensuring alignment with internal component layouts, NVH requirements, safety, and rigidity criteria
Review and support suppliers’ Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA), as well as co-develop HV Battery Functional Safety standards
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including design engineers, quality assurance, operations, and supply chain, to meet project milestones and deliverables
Document lessons learned from assembly processes, ensuring continuous improvements are integrated into verification, testing, and certification procedures
Provide regular progress updates, including milestones and challenges, to leadership
Maintain strong communication and a collaborative approach with both internal teams and external suppliers
Proactively raise significant issues to management for immediate resolution

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the design and optimization of HV battery packs, ensuring the successful integration of structural elements, electrical connections, thermal management, and safety features from concept through production. Key Responsibilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.).
Bonus Skills

Experience with internal combustion (IC) engine systems is a plus.
