Location: Central Peninsula Hospital, Alaska
Position Type: Full-time, Onsite (Monday-Friday, Day Shift with occasional on-call or after-hours work)


Overview

Central Peninsula Hospital (CPH) is seeking a skilled Healthcare Applications Specialist to join its dynamic Information Services team. This onsite role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the hospital’s operations by providing application support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and training. With a focus on enhancing healthcare technology, this position supports both internal and external users while ensuring smooth integration of software applications critical to the hospital’s operations.

To recognize the value of this position, CPH is offering a Critical Position Bonus of $10,000 and relocation assistance of $10,000.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Application Support & Maintenance
    • Provide technical support for assigned CPH applications.
    • Troubleshoot issues, resolve technical problems, and ensure applications are functioning efficiently.
    • Backup support for other hospital-supported applications as needed.
  2. Planning & Implementation
    • Participate in the selection, development, and implementation of new software solutions.
    • Plan and execute application upgrades, testing, and documentation to maintain system functionality.
  3. Integration & Information Exchange
    • Support the integration of applications and ensure seamless information exchange between systems.
    • Utilize scripting languages, data analytics, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) frameworks for effective management.
  4. Training & Documentation
    • Provide comprehensive training for internal and external users to enhance application adoption.
    • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for software configurations and procedures.
  5. Collaboration
    • Work closely with clinical and business teams to identify and meet system requirements.
    • Contribute to the improvement of Information Services across the hospital and affiliated business units.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Preferred: Associate’s Degree in Information Systems or a related field (e.g., business or healthcare).
  • Alternate: High school diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Information Systems certification required.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of Information Services experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Healthcare/Medical Applications Specialist.
