SEND Level 2 Caseworker Opportunity at Lincolnshire County Council
About the Role
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity to join Lincolnshire County Council as a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Level 2 Caseworker. This vital role focuses on managing a complex caseload of children and young people (0–25 years) with Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Plans, ensuring their needs are met with appropriate services and provisions to help them achieve their aspirations and the best possible outcomes.
As a SEND Level 2 Caseworker, you will:
- Manage the statutory EHC assessment process in compliance with the SEND Code of Practice (2015).
- Coordinate and facilitate high-quality EHC Plans that are tailored to individual needs, objectives, and aspirations.
- Handle SEND Tribunals for children and young people on your caseload, collaborating closely with our dedicated Legal Team to represent the Local Authority during tribunal hearings.
- Work in partnership with children, young people, families, professional agencies, and third-sector organizations.
- Ensure that children, young people, and their families participate fully in decision-making processes.
- Promote inclusive practices and develop creative, multi-agency solutions to support the needs of children and young people.

About You
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of professional qualifications, practical experience, and interpersonal skills. You will need:
- A degree in a Children’s Services-related area or substantial relevant experience in a similar role.
- Significant experience working with families, children, and young people with complex SEND needs.
- Extensive knowledge of SEND legislation, including the Children and Families Act (2014), the Education Act (1996), the Equality Act (2010), and the SEND Code of Practice.
- Strong skills in managing a case from assessment through to closure, with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- The ability to think creatively and find resourceful solutions to complex issues.
- Proficiency in chairing and facilitating multi-agency meetings.
- A full UK driving license (due to travel requirements).
