Summary:
The Charlie Norwood Veterans Affairs Medical Center is hiring a full-time Staff Physiatrist to join the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) team. Reporting to the PM&R Section Chief, this role focuses on providing specialized medical rehabilitation services to veterans. The goal is to enhance veterans’ health, independence, and quality of life by diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat veterans with conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, amputations, spasticity, and chronic pain
  • Develop and direct interdisciplinary rehabilitation plans
  • Use non-surgical treatments including medications and therapeutic modalities
  • Perform EMG and nerve conduction studies, and provide guided injections (joint, epidural, facet blocks)
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams across all PM&R clinics

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Basic Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Current, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
  • Completed accredited residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or a related specialty
  • Board certification preferred
  • Proficient in English

Additional Information:

  • Must pass background checks, drug screening, and physical exams
