Summary

This is a Direct Hire Public Notice for multiple potential vacancies. Applications are being accepted under Direct Hire Authority (DHA) to fill positions as they become available. There may or may not be immediate vacancies or selections made from this notice.

Selected candidates will support operations related to space, launch, and flight systems by applying mathematical and scientific principles to enhance safety, planning, and technology integration. Duties and responsibilities may vary based on the position and grade level.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with flight plan approvals and perform safety assessments.
  • Participate in launch support planning and systems analysis.
  • Attend technical meetings, briefings, and professional development events.
  • Conduct technical assessments and prepare data files for launch operations.
  • Remain technically proficient through continued learning and industry interaction.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree that includes at least 24 semester hours in mathematics and statistics, with 12 hours in mathematics and 6 in statistics; or a combination of education and experience that meets this requirement.

Grade-Level Requirements:

  • GS-11 to GS-15 positions require progressively higher levels of specialized experience, ranging from experience with conventional mathematical methods to leadership in modeling complex space systems, cyber operations, or launch technologies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

  • Strong foundation in mathematics and related scientific/engineering disciplines.
  • Experience with space surveillance, cyber systems, modeling, simulation, and operational planning.
  • Understanding of safety protocols, software development, and system testing.

Conditions of Employment

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • May be subject to drug testing and security clearance.
  • PCS (relocation) expenses may be authorized.
  • Shift work, emergency overtime, and non-standard hours may be required.
  • Must maintain necessary certifications and comply with all safety and security standards.
