WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
The Research Analyst 3 position will serve as the lead data management expert responsible for implementing and maintaining a comprehensive system for data collection, reporting, and analysis that will allow CDVSA to evaluate its programs and progress toward ending domestic violence in Alaska. This position will identify, collect, process and analyze quantitative and qualitative data related to domestic violence and sexual assault (DVSA) in Alaska. The RA 3 collects data from statewide grant funded community-based programs to create a data-driven picture of DVSA services and needs within Alaska communities and meet federal reporting requirements and deadlines.

Additionally, the RA 3 collaborates with other state departments/divisions, federal departments and other CDVSA partners such as the Division of Public Health and University of Alaska to research, evaluate and analyze data to drive policy, budgets and decision-making regarding domestic and sexual violence in Alaska

The mission of the Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, located within the Department of Public Safety, is to promote the prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault through a statewide system of support, safety, intervention, education and perpetrator accountability and healing. CDVSA’s purpose is to empower Alaska communities to create a future free of domestic and sexual violence and to build a comprehensive, interconnected system of services accessible to all Alaskans that will decrease domestic and sexual violence.

CDVSA is a small, dynamic team of eleven (11) staff that reports to an 11-member board of directors. Staff work both as a team, as well as independently to guarantee a coordinated and collective outcome. The CDVSA team provides funding, support, training and technical assistance to 34 community-based non-profit agencies all research working to end domestic and sexual violence in Alaska. Because Alaska ranks number one in intimate partner and interpersonal violence across the country, the work CDVSA does is critically important to improve the health, well-being, safety and growth of all Alaskans. THE WORKING CONDITIONS YOU CAN EXPECT:
CDVSA is a small office located in beautiful downtown Juneau, Alaska. CDVSA has weekly staff meetings and maintains two all staff “in-office” work days to ensure communication and collaboration among staff. CDVSA staff are eligible to telework two days a week after six months of employment.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Knowledge of research methods, procedures, techniques and terminology used in the more complex aspects of research projects; statistical theory and techniques; current economic and social theory, principles and problems; agency’s purposes, objectives, programs and activities; sources of appropriate information.

Ability to gather, compile, and analyze research data and present reports and summaries in written, tabular and graphic forms; maintain statewide statistical information in a particular field and develop appropriate reporting procedures; analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; direct and coordinate the work of others; work with a high degree of independence.

Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in the following:

Accountability: Holds self and other accountable for measurable high-quality and cost-effective results. Determines objectives, sets priorities, and delegates work. Accepts responsibility for own actions and decisions. Complies with established control systems and rules.

Equivalent to those typically gained by education and/or progressively responsibly professional experience which included investigative resource or statistical analysis.
