IT Manager/Senior Role Overview
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and security of Kallidus’ internal IT services. This is a hybrid role, combining technical expertise with strategic oversight, and requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional support to our global team.
Location:
- Primary office: Central Bristol (BS1 3AE)
- Regular travel to our Cirencester office required
- Remote support for offices in Sofia (Bulgaria), India, Pakistan, and North America
Salary: £35,000 – £50,000 per annum
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Ensure the availability and reliability of internal IT services.
- Establish, maintain, and evolve secure IT systems and infrastructure.
- Proactively respond to alerts, outages, and technical issues.
- Manage endpoint security, including antivirus, encryption, and mobile device management.
- Oversee disaster recovery processes, including backups and business continuity planning.
Team Management
- Line manage one IT Support Technician.
- Provide technical mentoring to team members and other colleagues.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Vendor and Asset Management
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for software, hardware, and mobile devices.
- Oversee software license agreements and subscription management.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and mobile devices.
Compliance and Security
- Collaborate with the Compliance Manager to meet industry standards (ISO27001, ISO9001, SOC2, Cyber Essentials).
- Implement and enforce security best practices, including SSO, MFA, and incident response protocols.
User Support
- Provide 3rd line troubleshooting and technical support to internal users.
- Manage ticket queues and ensure SLAs are met.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for colleagues.
Key Requirements
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Office 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive).
- Experience with Windows Server 2022 and Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Familiarity with Ubiquiti Wireless, networking, and CCTV solutions.
- Scripting and automation skills for Windows and macOS devices.
- Strong understanding of security best practices (SSO, MFA, incident response).
Soft Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and methodical approach to work.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to act independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Growth mindset with a passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in supplier contract negotiation.
- Mentoring experience with junior staff.
- Strong understanding of GDPR compliance.
Qualifications
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102T00-A).
- Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate (Purview).
