Position Overview:

This is a standing register announcement to fill current and future vacancies for developmental positions at the GS-07, GS-09, and GS-11 levels. The positions are in support of project planning, controls, and execution within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The roles involve project scheduling, budgeting, estimating, risk analysis, and data management using specialized software and established Project Management Business Processes (PMBP).


Key Responsibilities at the GS-11 Full Performance Level:

  • Support the execution and control of district projects and programs.
  • Perform as a team member in the Project Controls Group, managing planning, scheduling, estimating, and risk assessment across a portfolio of projects.
  • Use professional project management tools to execute daily project oversight and data reporting.
  • Ensure accurate project documentation and compliance with programmatic requirements.

Qualifications:

Basic Educational Requirements (must meet one of the following series):

  • Operations Research (1515)
  • Mathematics (1520)
  • Mathematical Statistician (1529)
  • Statistician (1530)
  • Computer Science (1550)
  • Data Science (1560)

Each series requires specific coursework as defined by OPM. Transcripts are required to verify qualifications.


Grade-Level Qualifications:

  • GS-07:
    • Experience: Entry-level project management support (e.g., scheduling, communication, data processing).
    • Education: 1 year of graduate education or Superior Academic Achievement.
    • Or a combination of both.
  • GS-09:
    • Experience: Assist in developing project schedules, troubleshooting, and making schedule risk recommendations.
    • Education: Master’s degree or 2 years of graduate-level education.
    • Or a combination of both.
  • GS-11:
    • Experience: Manage complex project schedules, generate performance reports, monitor budgets and lifecycle status.
    • Education: Doctoral degree or 3 years of graduate-level education.
    • Or a combination of both.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • May require a background check and financial disclosure.
  • Selectees may be subject to PCS allowances, relocation/recruitment incentives, or student loan repayment programs.
  • Trial/probationary period may apply.
  • This position falls under Career Program (CP) 18 – Engineering and Science.
