Position Overview

Key Duties

  • Identify and resolve issues in project planning processes
  • Analyze workflows and propose process improvements
  • Provide technical direction and oversight
  • Draft, evaluate, and consolidate reports and technical recommendations
  • Oversee contract technical submittals (e.g., designs, schedules, environmental plans)

Basic Requirements

For Engineers (0800 Series):
Must meet OPM engineering qualification standards, such as:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Or, EIT/FE exam passed, or PE licensure
  • Or, equivalent combination of education and engineering experience under licensed supervision

For Architects (0808 Series):

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or related field with required coursework
  • Or, a combination of education and experience equivalent to the degree requirements

Minimum Qualifications

You must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level, such as:

  • Delivering project planning services for design and construction projects
  • Preparing cost estimates for contract negotiations
  • Reviewing technical submittals and providing oversight
  • Managing project budgets and resolving design/construction challenges
  • Writing and presenting technical reports and contract documents

Other Conditions of Employment

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Must pass E-Verify and meet Selective Service registration if applicable
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Subject to DAWIA certification requirements
  • Must obtain a Government Travel Card
  • Must submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure (OGE-450) within 30 days of appointment
