Key Responsibilities
As a technical representative for assigned avionics systems, your duties will include:
- Acting as the technical point of contact for your assigned systems
- Serving as a subject matter expert supporting Airworthiness processes
- Conducting technical analyses for:
- Trade-off studies and engineering investigations
- Hardware/software architectures and upgrades
- Avionics hardware/software compatibility and modifications
- Developing key technical documents such as:
- System specifications
- Statements of work (SOW)
- Contractor Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
- Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
- Technical Directives
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Eligibility for federal employment and direct deposit
- Successful pre-employment drug screening (includes marijuana)
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service
- Recent retirees from the military must meet restrictions outlined in 5 U.S.C. 3326
Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
At least one year of experience at the GS-11/12 or equivalent level, which includes:
- Leading complex avionics systems development, acquisition, and integration for multiple Unmanned Naval Aviation platforms
- Supporting systems requirements development, sustainability, and FAA/industry standards development
- Applying knowledge of Collision Avoidance Systems, Transponders, Radar, and Ground Stations
- Leading cross-functional technical teams

Education Substitution:
Educational qualifications may be used in lieu of experience, provided transcripts or documentation are submitted. Accepted education includes ABET-accredited engineering degrees, computer science, physics, mathematics, or equivalent majors with qualifying coursework.
