Overview
This Direct Hire Public Notice is used to gather applications for potential cybersecurity positions across the Air Force Civilian Service. Selections may be made as vacancies arise. Submission of an application does not guarantee referral or selection.
Key Responsibilities
Duties vary by grade level and organizational need, but may include:
- Designing, installing, configuring, testing, and managing IT systems that support enterprise architecture and mission operations.
- Monitoring network and host-based intrusion detection/prevention systems to identify suspicious activities or breaches.
- Developing and implementing cybersecurity systems to detect, triage, and respond to incidents.
- Analyzing vulnerabilities and applying security modifications to enhance systems resilience.
- Creating and enforcing security policies, technical guidance, and procedures in compliance with DoD directives.
- Performing forensic investigations and analyzing threat intelligence from multiple sources.
Conditions of Employment

- A security clearance may be required depending on the position
- Subject to random drug testing
- Shift work, emergency overtime, and non-standard duty hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) may be required

Qualifications
Basic IT Competencies (all grades):
Applicants must demonstrate:

Specialized Experience by Grade Level:
- GS-12: 1 year of experience equivalent to GS-11 performing IT systems planning, integration, development, and testing.
- GS-13: 1 year of experience equivalent to GS-12 involving system architecture planning, IT integration, and technical consulting.
- GS-14: 1 year of experience equivalent to GS-13 serving as a senior IT advisor, managing complex IT policy, budget, and program initiatives.
- GS-15: 1 year of experience equivalent to GS-14 advising senior leadership on advanced IT solutions, overseeing IT operations, and leading strategic technology planning.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Applicants should possess:
- Expertise in cybersecurity operations and monitoring
- Knowledge of tools and procedures used in Security Operations Centers (SOC)
- Familiarity with system architecture planning and change management
- Strong analytical and advisory capabilities
- Proficiency in IT systems, software, and network security
