Summary
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation used to collect applications for potential upcoming vacancies in the Information Technology (IT) Management Series, GS-2210. Positions may or may not be filled based on application outcomes. Employment type (permanent, temporary, or term) will vary by need and location.
Key Responsibilities
Duties will vary by grade level but may include:
- Implementing and maintaining base-wide Information Security (INFOSEC/COMPUSEC) programs.
- Protecting data transmission over networks (LAN/WAN/web).
- Managing the Communications Security (COMSEC) program and overseeing cryptographic materials under the Cryptographic Access Program (CAP).
- Conducting COMSEC account reviews, inspections, and audits.
- Safeguarding IT systems against unauthorized access or data compromise.
Basic Qualifications
Education (Alternative A Path):
Bachelor’s or graduate degree in one of the following areas:
- Computer Science
- Engineering
- Information Systems
- Mathematics
- Operations Research
- Statistics
- Technology Management
or
A degree with at least 24 semester hours in the above disciplines plus related experience.
Grade-Level Qualification Requirements
GS-09:
- Master’s degree or
- 2 years of progressively higher graduate-level education or
- 1 year of specialized IT experience at the GS-07 level
GS-11:
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or
- 3 years of higher graduate education or
- 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level
GS-12 and above:
Must have progressively more advanced specialized experience, such as:
- Systems architecture planning
- Security certification and accreditation
- IT program management and consulting
