Facilities Maintenance Engineer Key Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance
The Facilities Maintenance Engineer is responsible for executing preventive maintenance programs. This includes regular inspections and servicing of equipment, systems, and structures to avoid malfunctions and ensure they operate at peak performance. - Repairs and Troubleshooting
When issues arise, the engineer must quickly diagnose and resolve problems. This could involve repairing electrical systems, HVAC units, plumbing, and other building infrastructure to minimize downtime and disruption. - System Upgrades and Improvements

Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Expertise
Do you have an Electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or City & Guilds)? Have you completed a trade apprenticeship with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience? A strong background in engineering, particularly in areas related to building systems such as electrical, mechanical, and building services, is essential. Experience with building automation systems and energy management is also highly desirable. - Problem-Solving Skills
Facilities Maintenance Engineers must be skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex issues quickly. The ability to think analytically and implement effective solutions is key to success in this role. - Attention to Detail
