Summary

Duties

As a Radio Frequency Machine Learning System (RFMLS) Engineer, you will work in the Intelligence and Cyber Technology Division of NSWCDD DNA. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical expertise in the design, development, and integration of software components and algorithms.
  • Developing Machine Learning models for automation and RF signal analysis, including Software Defined Radio (SDR) control.
  • Applying advanced technical knowledge in data science, machine learning, and related fields to create software for RF signal collection and analysis.
  • Leading software development efforts across critical programs and collaborating with contractors and stakeholders to define technical requirements and ensure timely delivery of capabilities.
  • Participating in evaluations of vendor capabilities and solutions.
  • Providing proactive technical leadership to ensure continuous improvement in systems development.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position may involve travel both within and outside the continental U.S., including military and commercial aircraft travel.
  • Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area is required under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA).
Qualifications

This is an interdisciplinary position, and applicants may be considered under the following occupational series:

  • General Engineer (0801)
  • Electrical Engineer (0850)
  • Computer Engineer (0854)
  • Electronics Engineer (0855)
  • Computer Scientist (1550)

You must meet the following qualifications to be eligible for the position:

  • One year of specialized experience at the ND-3 (GS-9/11) level, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Software Defined Radio (SDR) programming, RF digital signal processing, and Machine Learning frameworks and algorithms.
  • Proficiency in multiple software development languages (e.g., Python, C++, C#).
Education

Applicants must possess a degree in one of the following fields:

  • Engineering (e.g., electrical, computer, or electronics engineering)
  • Computer Science
    Alternatively, a combination of education and experience can be accepted. Transcripts are required to verify education qualifications.
