Overview

Key Responsibilities
Duties vary by grade but may include:
- Conducting complex economic research and statistical analysis using applied economics, quantitative social science, and operations research.
- Analyzing data to evaluate program efficiency, design strategies, and support decision-making.
- Preparing comprehensive reports, presentations, and briefings.
- Supporting special projects and strategic initiatives across Air Force programs.
Qualifications
Basic Requirement (all grades):
- Degree in economics with 21 semester hours in economics and 3 in statistics, accounting, or calculus,
or - A combination of education and experience equivalent to a degree in economics.
Specialized Experience (by grade):
- GS-11: Experience supporting analytical studies, preparing reports, and evaluating programs.
- GS-12: Experience applying economic models to complex assignments.
- GS-13: Experience analyzing adversarial economic systems and implementing economic strategies.
- GS-14: Experience developing economic models and simulations; leading advanced analysis efforts.
- GS-15: Experience delivering high-level economic assessments to support policy and regional strategy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Strong foundation in economic theory and quantitative analysis.
- Skill in research, evaluation, and technical reporting.
- Proficiency with economic modeling tools and methods.
- Effective communication and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to apply investigative techniques in economic research.
Conditions of Employment
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Selective Service registration (males).
- May require a security clearance.
- Subject to drug testing.
- PCS (relocation) expenses and incentives may be authorized.
- May require working non-standard hours.
Education
- Transcripts are required if qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience.
- Foreign education must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
