This is a Direct Hire solicitation intended to collect applications for potential vacancies within the Department of the Air Force. Applications may or may not result in referral or selection.
Key Responsibilities
Duties vary by grade level, but may include:
- Managing computer systems and providing IT infrastructure support across various platforms.
- Coordinating and implementing hardware/software upgrades and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity procedures.
- Administering user accounts and facilitating reliable data flows.
- Evaluating data processing systems and technologies, and documenting performance in technical reports.
- Leading technical efforts or teams (higher-grade levels) and aligning projects with organizational goals.
Qualifications
Basic Requirement (Education/Professional Credentials):
You must meet one of the following:
- A. Degree in Professional Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or one that includes differential/integral calculus and coursework in five core engineering disciplines.
- B. Combination of education and experience—with a thorough foundation in engineering science.
- C. Professional Engineering Registration
- D. Passing the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) exam
- E. 60+ semester hours in engineering sciences
- F. Related degree with engineering experience under supervision
Specialized Experience (Grade-specific):
- GS-12: Experience equivalent to GS-11; managing IT systems for complex programs/projects.
- GS-13: Equivalent to GS-12; preparing technical reports and defining future technology needs.
- GS-14: Equivalent to GS-13; managing branch-level engineering activities.
- GS-15: Equivalent to GS-14; providing technical leadership and advising senior stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Strong grasp of computer engineering and related disciplines.
- Understanding of data processing systems and performance metrics.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical regulations and procedures.
- Strong planning, communication, and teamwork skills.
Conditions of Employment
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Males must be registered for Selective Service
- A security clearance may be required
- Subject to drug testing, shift work, and emergency overtime
- Must maintain relevant certifications
- PCS (Permanent Change of Station) may be authorized
- Disclosure of political appointments required
