Join the Behavioral Health System of Care at Camp Pendleton, CA, as a Clinical Psychologist under a Direct‑Hire Solicitation. Duties

  • Behavioral Health Consultation: Serve as the embedded Behavioral Health Consultant in the Primary Care Behavioral Health program.
  • Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct thorough DSM‑based evaluations for acute mental health and behavioral medicine concerns.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop, document, and monitor evidence‑based treatment plans for individuals and groups.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver brief, problem‑focused therapies, CBT, and psychoeducational classes.
  • Risk Management: Assess and intervene with beneficiaries exhibiting acute or chronic risk factors.
  • Follow‑Up Care: Provide targeted follow‑up visits to track progress and adjust treatment.

Conditions of Employment

  • Background & Security: Suitability/fitness determination, Secret‐clearance–eligible (background and credit check), and pre‑placement medical exam.
  • Drug Testing: Pre‑employment screening and random urinalysis.
  • Immunizations: Seasonal flu consent/exemption; Hepatitis B and others as required.
  • Certifications: Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Red Cross.
  • On‑Call Duty: May require irregular hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
  • Mission Essential: Required to report during emergencies, disasters, or extreme weather.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree: Ph.D. or equivalent in Clinical Psychology.
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted state license to practice psychology independently.
  • Specialized Experience: At least one year post‐doctoral clinical experience (GS‑12 level), including psychological evaluations, treatment plan development, and counseling services.
  • No Education Substitution: Experience alone must meet the requirement.

Education & Foreign Degrees

If using foreign education, submit an equivalency evaluation confirming U.S. accreditation standards.


Additional Information

  • Selective Service: Males born after 12/31/1959 must certify registration.
  • Probation: One‑year trial may be required.
