Join the Behavioral Health Service team at the Fort Peck Service Unit in Poplar, Montana, as a Clinical Psychologist. In this role, you will provide vital psychological services that support the mental health and well-being of children, families, and the local community. You will report directly to the Director of Support Services.

🎯 Key Duties

As a Clinical Psychologist in this role, you will:

  • Provide outpatient individual, group, and family psychotherapy in a clinical setting.
  • Conduct psychological evaluations covering a broad range of emotional and psychiatric disorders.
  • Deliver preventive and crisis services, including mental status evaluations, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and psychological testing.
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, families, schools, and local agencies.
  • Provide outreach and direct services in community settings (e.g., schools, correctional facilities, nursing homes, patient homes, or via telehealth).
  • Develop and implement effective case management plans.

Requirements

  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service: Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must be registered.
  • Medical Requirements:
    • Must meet immunization requirements (Measles, Rubella, and seasonal influenza).
    • Must obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including necessary licensure.
  • Background Check: Must pass pre-employment fingerprinting and a background investigation.
  • Other: On-call or standby duty may be required. Direct deposit enrollment is mandatory.

🎓 Qualifications

Basic Requirement:

  • A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology from a U.S. Department of Education accredited institution.

Minimum Qualifications for GS-13:

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level, such as:
    • Performing psychological assessments and evaluations in a mental health clinic or hospital setting.
    • Delivering therapeutic treatment for various mental health conditions.
    • Providing patient consultation, collaboration, and referral services.
    • Assisting patients with severe or chronic mental illness and co-occurring conditions.
    • Utilizing electronic health records for patient care.

Selective Factor:

  • Must hold an active, current, unrestricted state license as a Clinical Psychologist.

Education Note:
