Join the U.S. Air Force as a Data Science Intern through the PALACE Acquire (PAQ) Program!
This entry-level position is designed to develop future data science professionals by providing practical on-the-job training and formal development. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience working with large datasets, conducting analyses, and supporting Air Force missions through data-driven insights.
This is a structured training opportunity where you will work alongside experienced data scientists while completing assignments that build your skills and prepare you for a career in federal data science.

🔍 Key Responsibilities
- Perform entry-level data science tasks under supervision, such as collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data.
- Assist with phases of larger projects by applying basic data science methods and procedures.
- Contribute to research efforts and special projects to expand your practical knowledge.
- Prepare reports, charts, and presentations to communicate findings clearly.
- Draft routine correspondence and respond to information requests.

- U.S. Citizenship required
- Males must register with the Selective Service
- A security clearance (up to Top Secret) may be needed
- Minimum GPA: 2.95 on a 4.0 scale
- Willingness to relocate if required; signing a mobility agreement is mandatory
- Must be able to travel occasionally
- One-year probationary period required
🎓 Qualifications
- Degree (bachelor’s or higher) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a directly related field.
- Understanding of basic data science concepts, mathematical principles, and analytical techniques.
- Ability to apply data science methods to solve problems and communicate results.
- Strong skills in analyzing data, planning work, and collaborating with others.
