About the Role:
Join the Air Force as an entry-level Computer Scientist to develop your expertise through practical, hands-on experience. This position is part of a training program designed to expand your skills in applying scientific principles, computer science methods, and theoretical foundations to real-world problems. You’ll receive progressively challenging assignments that support system research, software development, and technical evaluations.

⚙️ Key Duties:
At the GS-07 Level:
- Perform routine tasks and assist with more complex computer science projects.
- Apply basic evaluation and analysis techniques to support system acquisition and improvement.
- Participate in studies to identify issues and recommend improvements to computer systems.
- Support the design and development of software solutions for senior computer scientists and end users.
At the GS-09 Level:
- Apply programming, modeling, and algorithm techniques to parts of larger research or development projects.
- Use evaluation methods to analyze system performance and assist in developing solutions.
- Collaborate with senior specialists on research, testing, implementation, and acquisition activities.
- Develop and deliver software tools and solutions for use by advanced teams, contractors, or customers.
🏆 Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a bachelor’s degree with at least 30 semester hours in math, statistics, and computer science (including at least 15 semester hours in math/statistics with differential and integral calculus).
- Academic Standing: Minimum GPA of 2.95 on a 4.0 scale.
