Summary
This is an Air Force PALACE Acquire (PAQ) internship position designed to develop future data science professionals.
As a Data Science Intern, you will receive hands-on training and complete structured developmental assignments under the guidance of experienced analysts and data scientists. This program provides practical experience to build your knowledge and skills in analyzing complex data, solving problems, and supporting mission-critical projects across the Air Force.

What You’ll Do
- Learn by doing: Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting for projects led by senior analysts.
- Apply data science methods: Perform tasks that build your ability to handle real-world data problems and support decision-making.
- Support research: Contribute to special studies, gather and organize information, and help prepare briefings and reports.
- Communicate clearly: Draft correspondence, reports, and other documents to share findings and support project goals.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service registration (males only).
- Security clearance may be needed, up to Top Secret.
- Minimum GPA: 2.95 on a 4.0 scale.
- Mobility: Willingness to relocate during or after training; mobility agreement required.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
- One-year probationary period applies.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a related field.
- Understanding of data science fundamentals, mathematical analysis, and scientific methods.
- Ability to research, analyze data, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
