This position focuses on a wide variety of high-level duties. The Public Trustee Division’s main
emphasis will be to analyze and apply the legal and technical requirements pursuant to Colorado
Revised Statutes, Titles 37-38, utilizing software (Government Technology Systems®,
Simplifile®, CSC®, Microsoft Office Suite®, safe internet research, etc.), while providing clear
and concise information and assistance to the public regarding the processes.

Cross-training with the Treasury Division will focus on statutory taxpayer services as assigned
and utilizing the Treasurer’s software (EagleTyler®, ItemAge®, CreditTron®, Microsoft Office
Suite®, safe internet research, etc.).

The position is generally assigned to in-office duties but may require travel and field work.

Overtime is required from time-to-time and is compensated by comp time.

incoming mail to all Office of the Treasury’s software as assigned. * Statutorily utilize defined processes to create and deliver reporting pursuant to C.R.S.

Titles 37-38 to all required parties. * Assist with opening and processing incoming mail (approximately 700,000 pieces per

year) for both the Public Trustee and Treasury Divisions. Ability to lift 20-40 lbs.

Qualifications for Success

  • Exercise strong judgment, discretion, and confidentiality as to all Office of the Treasury

communications, processes, procedures, banking protocols, employment matters, and
other restricted data. * Skilled in providing superior service via phone, mail, email and face-to-face.

  • Skilled in operating MS Office Suite, Excel and Outlook, including navigation and

proficiency in applications within multiple drives, and file structures. * Communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively, both orally and written.

  • Proficiently operate standard office equipment.
  • Type 40 WPM
  • 10 key by touch at 10k per hour.
  • Be detailed, accurate, a quick learner, and maintain good attendance.
  • Must establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with

those contacted in the course of work, including the Office of the Treasury team, other
Elected Officials’ offices and teams, County employees, and any other party. * Proofread a variety of documents.

  • Practice statutorily stated adherence of recordkeeping, and a good math aptitude is

necessary. * Maintain and monitor deadlines for foreclosure cases, Release of Deeds of Trust, and

taxpayer services. * Ensures strict adherence to established guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards.

Reviews and analyzes work completed to determine effectiveness in meeting standards,
goals, and objectives. * This position must be able to proficiently perform all essential duties required no later

than by 6 months of appointment. * A review of the incumbent’s performance indicators will be conducted on a periodic basis

as determined by the supervisor. The supervisor evaluates the incumbent’s
administration of policies and procedures through daily observations, spot checks, written
reports, feedback from other staff members and the public, and communication with the
incumbent. * Strong team behavior and maturity is required.

More Qualifications for Success

Experience – Minimum of one (1) year and preference of two (2) years, preferably with a law firm, governmental entity, or non-profit consumer protection advocacy in real estate, foreclosure, or other related disciplines.

Education – Associates in business/accounting or real estate (or a combination of real estate certified and business/accounting); year for year experience in real estate ownership conveyancing, time, and/or foreclosure work will be considered for the educational requirement.

License or Certificate – Notary Public commission by the Colorado Secretary of State, in good standing, is desired, and is required after hiring.

Background Check / Drug Testing – Must pass criminal background check/s prior to hiring, and from time-to-time during employment, continue drug testing and criminal background checks. Candidates’ continued employment will require consent to such monitoring.

Restricted Access/Confidentiality – The Treasurer and Public Trustee’s various offices are restricted to access by Office of the Treasury employees only and those granted permission to enter the facilities by the Treasurer and Public Trustee. All data and correspondence are always to be held as confidential by the Office of the Treasury employees.

Weekly Hours – At least 40 hours
Employees qualify for Health benefits (medical, dental, vision, Life/ADD, disability), the mandatory 9% Pension enrollment and the optional 457b deferred compensation package. They start accruals for Vacation and Sick.

Expected salary: $35838.4 – 50169.6 per year
