Job description: Purpose:
This role will be responsible for developing and executing a robust internal communications strategy that intersects with a variety of key system departments, while contributing to leader communications, as well as issues and crisis management efforts. With a strong focus on our Advocate Aurora Health Foundation and its internal and external activities, the role also provides creative, strategic and comprehensive communications that will further elevate Advocate Aurora and its senior leaders. Leader will be accountable for developing communications strategy and seeing it through execution, while acting as a communications counselor to senior leadership, with an important emphasis on suppporting organizational initiatives to drive growth.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop, draft and execute internal communications strategy and related collateral to ensure effective communication across the organization in support of business goals and objectives.
  • Manage the strategic communications needs of leaders and key departments by providing appropriate counsel and comprehensive communications solutions to meet Advocate Aurora’s business priorities.
  • Lead all internal and external communications activities related to Advocate Aurora’s Foundation, its strategic priorirites, events and efforts.
  • Plan, direct and organize content for Advocate Aurora’s publications and communications in support of the organization’s multi-faceted content strategy.
  • Drive collaboration with all departments on broad, digital-first communication approach to internal audiences.
  • Oversee the design, production and distribution of communication through various vehicles and platforms.
  • Plan for and responds quickly and effectively in the event of a crisis. Prepare response strategy in conjunction with division and system executives.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field, or Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations.
  • Experience Required: Typically requires 7 years of experience in in supporting public affairs, public relations, internal communications or issues management.
