MITRE’s Finance organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the MITRE National Security Sector Finance Team, which provides financial business partnering support to MITRE National Security Sector and its Department Heads and Project Leaders.
As a Financial Analyst, you will serve as a trusted advisor and business leader in support of the Joint and Service center organization. In this role, you will serve as the primary source of day-to-day financial management and business decision support to Department Heads and Project Leaders – playing a key part in the business operations functions that maximize MITRE’s value to our government sponsors.
Job Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:
Full-lifecycle financial, and end-to-end business support of direct work programs (e.g. Cost estimation, pipeline assessments, etc.)
Ability to collaborate to resolve inconsistencies between the assumptions, beliefs, and processes to increase the likelihood of achieving business unit objectives
Processing subcontractor invoices, entries into the budgeting system and other financial duties monthly or as needed
Provide department managers with monthly financial updates on program status
Conduct high-quality analysis of financial data and develop new metrics to assist in financial management
1-4 years of finance and/or accounting experience within the US Government (Federal) practice of a professional services firm
Relevant academic and/or professional qualification
Passion, energy, and enthusiasm in learning and applying through creative problem-solving
Strong attention to detail
Resourceful self-starter who executes on commitments
Mindset of continuous improvement with the capacity to drive change
Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and influencing skills
Consensus builder: Promote ideas and gain buy-in on new approaches
Flexible team player with ability to work in cross-functional teams and across varying groups and organizational levels
Ability to handle multiple concurrent work streams while maintaining high quality output
Experience with Deltek Cost Point, Tableau, and or Cognos Analytics preferred
